We’re looking for a Director of Advertising to lead strategic performance across our Amazon client portfolio.

You’ll drive innovation, mentor a talented team, and ensure every campaign delivers

Reporting to the Head of Advertising, you’ll turn strategy into scalable success – overseeing campaign performance, data-driven insights, and operational excellence

What You’ll Do

• Lead a team of Advertising Managers and Specialists to deliver exceptional client results.

• Champion proactive client communication — ensuring clients receive timely updates, insights, and recommendations before they need to ask.

• Anticipate client needs and lead by example in transparent, trustworthy, and forward-thinking communication.

• Develop and execute strategies that drive growth, improve efficiency, and scale performance.

• Analyze performance data to uncover insights, trends, and new opportunities.

• Collaborate with Account Directors, Content, and Data teams to deliver cohesive growth strategies.

• Champion innovation by testing new tools, automation, and AI-driven advertising insights.

• Report to the Head of Advertising with actionable insights and recommendations.

What You Bring

• 3+ years’ experience in Amazon Advertising or Performance Marketing, ideally within an agency.

• Strong understanding of Amazon’s ad platforms and performance levers.

• Proven success in improving campaign efficiency and scaling client growth.

• Excellent analytical, strategic, and leadership skills.

• A drive for innovation and continuous improvement.

• Exceptional communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.

Job Description: Director of Advertising

Position Overview:
As the Director of Advertising, you will play a pivotal role in driving client growth and performance across Amazon platforms. You will lead the development and execution of advanced advertising strategies, oversee campaign delivery, and ensure measurable results. Working closely with the Head of Advertising, you’ll translate strategic vision into scalable systems, optimize campaign efficiency, and mentor a high-performing team to deliver outstanding outcomes for clients.

    Responsibilities

     

    Client Communication Excellence:

    • Lead with proactive communication — ensuring clients receive updates, insights, and recommendations before they ask.
    • Anticipate client needs by identifying potential issues or opportunities early and communicating action plans clearly.
    • Build client confidence and trust through transparency, reliability, and thoughtful messaging.
    •  Set the standard for timely, empathetic, and professional communication across the Advertising team.
    • Collaborate with Account Directors to ensure client updates are cohesive and consistent across channels.

    • Model and mentor proactive communication habits that prevent escalations and strengthen partnerships. 

    Advertising Leadership:

    • Oversee advertising performance across all client accounts to ensure excellence in campaign delivery and alignment with client goals.
    • Partner with the Head of Advertising to define and execute strategic initiatives that enhance Sell Global’s advertising performance.
    • Lead quarterly reviews to evaluate performance, efficiency, and growth opportunities across accounts.
    • Promote innovation by testing new strategies, tools, and advertising solutions to improve performance outcomes.

    Team Development and Collaboration:

    • Mentor and guide Advertising Managers and Specialists to strengthen analytical and strategic capabilities.
    • Encourage collaboration across Account Management, Content, and Data teams to deliver cohesive client strategies.
    • Develop and implement scalable advertising frameworks, playbooks, and best practices to drive consistent results.
    • Support continuous learning and upskilling initiatives across the advertising department.

    Performance & Innovation:

    • Analyze advertising data to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities.
    • Report on key metrics (ACOS, TACOS, ROAS, and revenue) and recommend data-driven optimization strategies.
    • Champion adoption of automation, AI tools, and analytical systems to drive campaign efficiency.
    • Serve as an escalation point for complex advertising challenges, ensuring quick resolution and strategic alignment.

    Experience Required:
    •  3+ years in Amazon Advertising or Performance Marketing, leading high-performance teams and strategy execution.
    •  Proven ability to manage and optimize large-scale advertising campaigns across multiple clients.
    • Strong analytical skills with expertise in using data for strategy and decision-making.
    • Deep knowledge of Amazon Advertising (Sponsored Ads, DSP, Attribution, and reporting tools).
    • Exceptional communication, leadership, and client management skills.
    • Agency experience strongly preferred.
    • Ideally based in Sydney or Melbourne.
